Michelle Grasso - Director
I always tell my son to find what he loves and then he will find his place and his community. That’s what happened for me when I discovered the joy of music-making.
My love of music began while listening to opera at my Nana’s house and Sinatra in my Grandmother’s apartment. Then I started singing in the church choir when I was 5 years old and I haven’t stopped since. Over the years, I have played several instruments including the flute, piccolo, French horn, and viola. I’ve also sung in every type of choir you can imagine.
Most recently, I started lessons on the guitar. My love of music, theater and opera allowed me to go to college on scholarship and I now hold degrees in music from the University of New Hampshire and the University of Arizona. I have sung a number operatic roles over the years including Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro and Sister Constance in Dialogue of the Carmelites. Recently, I celebrated my 30th year as a cantor and soloist for the Boston Diocese.
My involvement with Music Together® began when I was introduced to the program by a neighbor who was a Music Together® teacher and parent. Everything about the program was so well-developed and so beautifully designed. I did my training in 2005 and have been teaching ever since. I took my own child to classes and I use that experience to plan classes that are fun, free, informative, and supportive.
Music is a positive, powerful force. It has been shown to be beneficial to our brains and development. Most importantly, I believe music lifts and nurtures our spirit, and is best when we experience it together.
When I am not working, I enjoy cooking, gardening, photography, volunteering at my son’s school, and traveling with my family. I live in Reading with my husband, our son, two dogs, two parakeets, and a four honeybee hives.

Kimberly Robertson
Music Together Around The Towns is thrilled to welcome Kimberly Robertson to our staff. Kimberly had her first exposure to music in the womb, as her mother was a music educator! Since then, she has studied at Boston University and her talent has taken her to the Tanglewood stage where performed under Seji Ozawa and John Williams.
Kimberly plays a number of instruments, including the piano, and most recently she has learned the accordion. In addition to her musical talents, she is a gifted actor and director. She has taught and directed many theatrical productions in the area and is also an Equity Actor.
Kimberly’s journey working with children began several years ago as the mother of a young child herself. She has worked in music for more than 15 years in the Reading/Andover area and recently became a nationally registered Music Together® teacher. In addition to her teaching and performing, she is the Music Ministry Director for Second Church Boxford.
When she is not singing, playing or teaching, she works at her family’s bakery located on their 150 year-old farm in West Boxford. A new empty nester, she is enjoying her now quiet home with her cat.
