Our Teachers

All of our teachers are nationally registered Music Together® teachers. They are passionate about music and the development of children.

We strive to create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Kathy Dalton

A life-long singer and actor, Kathy Dalton has degrees from Swarthmore College and the University of Pennsylvania in Psychology and Early Childhood Literacy. While at Swarthmore, she studied vocal performance and sang with the Swarthmore Choir. As a Kindergarten-2nd grade teacher, she focused on music to create a supportive environment for learning and early literacy. She was "the singing lady"!

For the past 15 years, Kathy has been working with community theater groups and schools to teach drama and encourage music development. In Vermont, she developed and taught an early childhood musical morning program for parents and children. In Andover, she developed and taught a theater games program at West Elementary School. She co-directed SHOWKIDZ, a children's theater camp, for the Colonial Chorus Players in Reading and also directed a children's theater program at the Burlington Players ). She has also produced shows for Merrimack Junior Theatre. Her goal is for every child to experience the delight of singing and performing.

Her passion outside the classroom is musical theater. Kathy performs with many local community theater groups including the Quannipowett Players, Arlington Friends of the Drama, the Vokes Theatre, ACME Theatre, and Hovey Players. Her most recent productions include "Sunday in the Park with George at Vokes Theatre and "Side by Side by Sondheim" at Arlington Friends of the Drama. An avid reader of plays and scoress, Kathy enjoys serving on play selection committees for local theater groups.

The Music Together program is a perfect way for Kathy to incorporate both her love of music and commitment to early childhood development. It is a privilege to share in these early musical moments with families. Kathy lives in Andover and Gloucester with her husband and two children.
